How to Enter

Anyone resident in New Mexico can register and enter our contests. To participate you may find the following steps useful.

Preparation

  1. Collect as many as 10 digital images you would like to be considered by the judges as your contest portfolio – your entry in the contest.
  2. Make sure each image is less than 300kb in size. Larger images will not be accepted.  Most of the time images resized to 800 x 600 px will come in below 300kb.
  3. Assemble information for your contact information, name, address, phone numbers.
  4. Prepare your Artist’s Statement about your work.
  5. Prepare a Resume about your work as a photographer.
  6. Think of a user name you would like to use.  Make sure it doesn’t reflect your name or any organization you are associated with to ensure anonymous judging.

Judges in our contests will not be allowed to see your contact information, Artist’s Statement or Resume to ensure anonymous judging.

Register

You are now ready to Register in the contest.

  1. Under Contest click on the contest you want to participate in.
  2. Click on Register.
  3. At the ‘Register for this site’ dialog, enter a user name and a valid email address you use.
  4. Click on the ‘Register’ button.  You will be returned to the login screen.  An email will have been sent to your email address with a password.  Use the user name and password to Login.

After successfully logging in you will see links to ‘Post Photos’, ‘My Photos’, ‘My Profile’ and ‘Logout’

Upload Your Images

Once you have created your account and logged in you are now ready to upload your images.

  1. At the ‘Submit an Entry’ screen (accessible from ‘Post Photos’ link), use the Browse button to locate an image file you want to submit on your local computer.
  2. Enter a title of the image in the Title field.
  3. Enter some information you would like to include about this image in the About field.
  4. Click on the Save button when you are satisfied with your form entries and wait for the message:

(Observe any error messages and make corrections.)

Update Your Profile

To ensure a valid entry in our contests please complete the form under the ‘My Profile’ link.

  1. Enter information in each field making sure you have completed the fields with an asterisk (*).
  2. You can Cut & Paste plain text into the Artist’s Statement and the Resume fields.
  3. Click on the Save button when you are satisfied with your form entries.

This information is not shared with the public.

Viewing your Entry

You can review the images you have uploaded that have been approved by the Contest Administrator under the ‘My Photos’ link.

You can choose between a ‘polaroid’ view and the standard view in your ‘My Profile’.

Clicking on an image will display a larger version along with the title, contestant id, posting date and description (taken from the About field on the upload form).

Clicking on the image again will show the original version in a new window or tab (depending on your browser and its settings).
